Applying
Pink-It finishing tapes is a very straight forward process, you iron
them on. They are cut from either Nelson Hobby Lite Fab or Solartex
which both have a heat activated adhesive applied to the back side.
If you are going to apply rib stitches you will probably want to apply
them before applying the Pink-It tapes. However, if you are painting
your model and plan to use the glue drop method to simulate the rib
stitches, you can apply the glue drops to the top of the rib stitches
just before you begin painting. This method will give surprisingly
good results. Please experiment with different methods and see which
method you prefer.
While the Pink-It tapes are fuel proof, I
strongly recommend that you apply a clear coat over them once you
have them all applied. This will make cleaning your model much, much
easier and keep you from snagging one of the pinks while wiping off
your plane.
